There are different kinds of knowledge in the Bible, and different levels of it. The new testament Greek is diverse and rich in words describing knowledge at various levels.
For instance, in Luke 1:34
Mary asked the angel, “How can I give birth to the Saviour, since I do not KNOW a man?” Clearly, Mary was talking about not having any male friends, or not ‘knowing’ any man in that community. The level of knowing she meant was a sexually intimate knowing. The kind of knowing that unites the subject and the object being known as one.
And interestingly, the word of God which will benefit you and produce results in your life is the word that you have united with intimately. Or else it doesn’t work. For example, the Bible says, by the stripes of Jesus we were healed. Meaning Jesus actually has paid the medical bills for your deliverance and healing from every sick condition. But how well you have believed that truth and how deep you know it, will determine your relationship with sickness. It’s all in your level of apprehension of the knowledge of the truth.
Beloved, no matter what level you are in your knowledge and faith, never settle for less than what God has prepared for you. Keep digging deeper and deeper and you will find rivers of living waters that springs forth into everlasting life and joy. Hallelujah! Glory to God!
