Ephesians‬ ‭5:1‭-‬2‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.

1 Peter 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently

One of the key indicators that shows that one is a follower of Christ is how you WALK IN LOVE. Love for God, and love for your neighbor. That is why all the ‘fruits’ of the spirit is encapsulated in love, because God is love. The main character of God is love and all the other 8 traits are expressions of that love.

That’s why the epistles tell us quite emphatically that,

 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. (1john 4:20)

You can’t come to church and be rolling on the floor in worship singing, “I love you Lord, and I lift my voice”, and yet your heart is full of hatred and malice towards your neighbours, colleagues and fellow brethren. NOO, YOU LIE.

So as child of God with the eternal life of God in you, bear the fruit of love. LET LOVE OOZE OUT OF YOU. Don’t hold back. Love people when they deserve it, and love them more when they don’t deserve it. Don’t forget that you also didn’t deserve Jesus’ love yet he loved you all the same and came to die for you. He lost a lot in coming after you and I, but he came. That’s what the love of God does. And this love is in your heart because you have the life of God. Hallelujah.

Beloved, let us love without restraint, for God is love. And because he has shared his love-filled life abroad in our heart, we are love beings too. Praise God Forevermore!
