Acts 3:1-6
One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer—at three in the afternoon. Now a man who was lame from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money…
Then Peter said, “Silver or gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk.”
There are two key players in that story of ‘Peter heals a lame beggar’:
The crippled man needing help, and Peter & John providing help ‘in his name’. WHICH PLAYER ARE YOU?
Do you realize that, in the mind of Jesus, He has given you all the tools and resources for you to be the help giver ‘in his name’? And it doesn’t matter what situation you are facing, YOU ARE THE HELP GIVER AND NOT THE VICTIM. YOU HAVE BEEN CALLED TO BE PART OF THE SOLUTION, NOT THE PROBLEM. Yes, you might be facing some challenging situations, but you have been given all you need to solve that problem; if only you will arise and take your place ‘IN HIS NAME’.
Ohhh, but so many of God’s children have relegated themselves to the bench. They have concluded themselves to be victims. They have become beggarly and destitute in life – always needing help instead of providing it. What happened to you? ARE YOU A BEGGAR OR A HELP-GIVER? Of course, if you a child of God, you cannot be the beggar here. That’s why I bring you God’s word so that you will shake yourself up and rise up ‘In His Name’ and be the help-giver that you have been called to be. Hallelujah to His name! ARISE AND SHINE.
