Matthew 23:34‭-‬36 Therefore, indeed, I send you prophets, wise men, and scribes: some of them you will kill and crucify, and some of them you will scourge in your synagogues and persecute from city to city,  that on you may come all the righteous blood shed on the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.  Assuredly, I say to you, all these things will come upon this generation.

One of the most alarming and shocking realities of the Church’s persecutions is that it comes mostly from within. The universal body of Christ persecutes it’s own prophets and kills it’s own people more than anyone else. And we do that in the spirit of SECTARIANISM and the spirit of IGNORANCE. It’s so sad.

You will find a minister and his followers throwing fire at another minister simply because they disagree on something. You suddenly become the enemy of some brethren because you no longer ‘fellowship with them’. What is wrong with us? The body of Christ is one of the most divided institutions on earth because we don’t know how to properly discern the Lord’s body.

Did you know that the main people who orchestrated the arrest and crucifixion of Jesus were the Pastors, Priests and Elders of the time? See it:

“In the first light of dawn, all the high priests and religious leaders met and put the finishing touches on their plot to kill Jesus. Then they tied him up and paraded him to Pilate, the governor. – Matthew 27:1‭-‬2 MSG”

 Yeah. They were the ones. And this has not changed even until this day. Which is why most of the current and coming persecutions is and will be from within.
