Revelations 4:4
And round about the throne were four and twenty seats: and upon the seats I saw four and twenty elders sitting, clothed in white raiment; and they had on their heads crowns of gold.
Job 19:9
He hath stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
The crown, like job said, is an emblem of glory. It doesn’t have to be a physical crown as we know it, though it could be. Whatever form it comes in, the bearer of the crown will be beaming with glory and honor for what he/she posseses – and everyone will acknowledge same. These will be heavenly treasures unto you. And if you want to lay up these treasures, you have to work for it. Yes, salvation is by Grace and not of works lest anyone should boast (Eph 2:8-9), but obtaining the CROWNS is certainly by works.
The Bible specifically mentions these 5:
▪️ The Incorruptible Crown – 1Cor 9:25
▪️ The Crown of Rejoicing – 1thes 2:19
▪️ The Crown of Righteousness – 2tim 4:8
▪️ The Crown of Life – Jm 1:12
▪️ The Crown of Glory – 1pet 5:4
Just as when you run a 100metres race, you are not given a 5000metres medallion, likewise, each of these crowns have specific works that earns them. You could have all or you could have none. The question we must answer to merit these is: WHAT WORK did you do for the Lord and for His Kingdom after you believed?…Selah!
