2 Timothy 1:6 AMPC That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination].
1 Thessalonians 5:19 Quench not the Spirit.
One important way you constantly keep your fire ablaze is CONSISTENT HABITUAL PROLONGED PRAYER in the Holy Ghost.
It was Charles H. Spurgeon who said, ‘The neglected closet is the beginning of all spiritual decline’. Oh how true!
You see, just like each of the 10 virgins, there is a fire in your heart sourced from the Holy Spirit who is in you. But you have to make sure that this fire doesn’t go out. Nobody can do this for you, you must do this for yourself. This is your sole RESPONSIBILITY; others can point you in the right direction, and inspire you, and support you; but the responsibility of keeping the fire alive is yours and yours only. That is why the wise virgins told the foolish virgins to go buy for themselves. And one key way to do this is to PRAY IN THE HOLY GHOST.
This is why Paul told Timothy, to STIR UP, KINDLE UP, and FAN INTO FLAMES the embers and that inner fire in Him. If you don’t want your fire to dim, please don’t neglect your prayer closet. That man of God or child of God who is lazy with his prayer commitment, can not be ablaze for Jesus. Very soon your fire will die out and flies and insects will be playing around you and using you as a resting place. Why and how should the child of God with the Spirit of God in him/her ever be a harbor for demonic activity. No, no, no, no. It is because, first and foremost YOU HAVE NEGLECTED YOUR PRAYER CLOSET – your place of KINDLING.
Child of God, DO NOT QUENCH YOUR FIRE – STAY IN PRAYER.
GRACEFUL MORNING
