I Peter 1:14 As obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;

Ephesians 2:1‭-‬2 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,

The Bible calls all those who have been saved ‘OBEDIENT CHILDREN’; and those who have not been saved, it calls them, “SONS OF DISOBEDIENCE“. Showing us clearly the OBEDIENCE OR SURRENDERING side of our complete salvation.

Jesus has stated unambiguously what the cost of being a disciple of Him will be. Sometimes we don’t want to read that portion of the scriptures because it’s not pleasant to us. But it’s clear nonetheless,

He said it will cost you the things you love. In Luke 14:26ff, he said we must place our love for him above money, or job, or family.

“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. (Luke 14:26‭-‬27)

If following Jesus means loss of money to you, lose it; if it means loss of job, let it go; if you have to be persecuted for it, endure it. Is Jesus not of more value to you than all these? If he’s not, then deny him and stick to these at the expense of Christ. But anyone who has had true encounter with Jesus knows that nothing in this world is worth losing Jesus for – Absolutely Nothing. And best of all is, YOU NEVER LOSE A THING IF YOU GIVE IT UP FOR CHRIST, RATHER YOU GAIN IT.

IF YOU HAVE TO DENY JESUS IN ORDER TO SECURE A CERTAIN POSITION, THEN THAT POSITION IS NOT WORTH YOUR WHILE, NO MATTER HOW MUCH MONEY THEY PROMISE TO GIVE YOU. Believing in Jesus demands your OBEDIENCE – there is no way around that. Are you a ‘Son of Obedience’, or a ‘Son of Disobedience‘? Be blessed!
