James 1:2-4,12 Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience. But let endurance and steadfastness and patience have full play and do a thorough work, so that you may be [people] perfectly and fully developed [with no defects], lacking in nothing.
I hate to be the bearer of ‘bad news’, but YOU NEED SOME SUFFERINGS IN ORDER TO DEVELOP SOME VIRTUES. There is almost no way around it. Else, tell me, how else can the believer develop ENDURANCE and STEADFASTNESS and PATIENCE? How?
That is why I tell you that, NOT ALL SUFFERINGS ARE BAD. In fact, there are GOOD SUFFERINGS AND BAD ONES. It’s just like criticism, even though there are bad and negative ones, there are some that are healthy and positive criticisms, which when taken well improves the recipient and makes you better for it. So you must learn to distinguish between the two and welcome the GOOD ones.
Nobody likes to be put under pressure, but you will agree with me that, there were somethings you would have never got them done without some pressure – pressure, either from your bosses, mentors or even from your own self.
That’s exactly how some SUFFERINGS and AFFLICTIONS and TRIALS can help you. By their very nature, they have in them the ability to put pressure on you in order to bring out precious virtues from you. And the child of God who wants to come to perfection in Christ must learn how to endure and use afflictions for good. Hallelujah!
I pray for you. That every affliction, trial and suffering you are currently facing will not crumble you, but rather it will produce BEAUTY out of you. May you churn out BEAUTY out of ASHES in Jesus mighty name. Amen! Be blessed Child of God!
GRACEFUL MORNING
