1 Corinthians 12:12-13 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

What is the basis of our oneness in Christ? How is it that every believer belongs to the same Church? I will tell you:

IT IS BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD. It’s called the ONENESS OF THE SPIRIT.

..And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. -Romans 8:9b

Anyone who does not have the spirit of Christ living in him/her is not saved and hence is not a Christian. There is a sharp dividing line between who is a Christian and who is not – and the distinction is The Spirit of God. IF YOU HAVE THE SPIRIT OF GOD LIVING IN YOU, AND I HAVE THE SPIRIT OF GOD LIVING IN ME, WE ARE JOINED TOGETHER BY THAT ONE SPIRIT AND HENCE BELONG TO THE SAME CHURCH. It’s an amazing operation.

So Paul says,

‘For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.’

This is too awesome and beautiful. THE SPIRIT IS THE POOL IN WHICH WE ALL HAVE BEEN BAPTIZED INTO, THEREBY FORMING ONE HUGE INTERCONNECTING MYSTICAL BODY CALLED ‘THE BODY OF CHRIST’=CHURCH. Wow..Wow..Wow.

So it doesn’t matter whether you are Asian, and I am Ghanaian; whether you live in Canada, and I am at Accra; whether you attend Winners Chapel and I attend Christ Apostolic, we have been baptized into One Body, and are in the same Church as a result. Let this cure you from all forms of divisions and factions and sects. Shalom to you in Jesus name. Amen!
