I Thessalonians 1:6 NKJV[6] And you became followers of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Spirit,
Acts 2:41 NKJV [41] Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them.
The second important thing to do to give receptivity to God’s Word is concerning how you receive the word. God’s word must be received with GLADNESS and JOY.
Another name for the GOSPEL is GOOD NEWS, and as it’s name suggests, it must be received with Joy and enthusiasm. The word of God preached will bear much fruits if the hearer is excited about it. You can’t be all moody and gloomy in church. No, church is not a funeral grounds because the message of Christ is always a message of hope and salvation.
Imagine yourself as a husband who has put a lot of weeks of preparation, savings, and efforts to make a surprise gift for your wife. And when you reveal the surprise, your wife is unmoved about it and shows zero excitement. How does that feel?
Someone said to me, “It’s just my temperament, I don’t show emotions.” But you must understand that the joy and excitement you express for the word of God gives it reception into your heart. So decide, whether you want God’s word to gain entrance to your heart or not, and choose how you are going to receive it – with gladness. Hallelujah. Have a blissful week in Jesus name. Amen!
GRACEFUL MORNING
