Colossians 3:8-10 But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

The 3rd reason why the born again child of God OUGHT to do GOOD WORKS is that: IT’S YOUR NATURE – YOU HAVE THE NATURE OF GOD IN YOU AND THAT NATURE DOES GOOD BY DEFAULT.

Without any rewards. And without any one to benefit from our goodness, we still can’t help it. Your natural instinct is to be good and do good. If you were left to live alone by yourself, how would you live? What traits will come forth from you when no one is with you? YOUR TRUE NATURE SHOULD SHOW FORTH REGARDLESS.

So Paul said to the Colossians, do not lie because you have put off the old man. When you got born again, you became a New Man, and this new man has its own nature and characteristics – and lying is not part of it. Your new man is totally opposite to your old self, so discontinue all those things you used to do. That’s why God’s Word tells you, IF ANY MAN IS IN CHRIST, HE IS A NEW CREATURE.

Say this: I AM A NEW MAN IN CHRIST. I HAVE THE LIFE AND NATURE OF GOD IN ME, AND I DO GOOD WORKS BY DEFAULT. IT’S MY NATURE, AND I CAN’T HELP IT. Hallelujah! Gloryyyyy!
