Proverbs 16:2 All a person’s ways seem pure to them, but motives are weighed by the Lord .
1 Samuel 16:7 …for the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.
Always remember what the scripture says, that
“I God, I search the heart and examine the mind. I get to the heart of the human. I get to the root of things. I treat them as they really are, not as they pretend to be.”
-Jer 17:10 MSG. Understand that, The Lord weighs your motives.
Why do you pray? Why do you give? Why do you do good? What is your MOTIVATION? When was the last time you spent 30mins or an hour in prayer which was not about your needs? If no one knows that you are doing good or serving, will you still do it? Selah. I am trying to make you arrive at the true motive behind what you do, and why the good you do may get no reward/recognition before God; And how you can change that for the better.
I know self examination is always difficult. But it will save you a lot of wasted efforts. If you want your prayers and deeds to be effective? ALWAYS EXAMINE YOUR OWN MOTIVES BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING IN THE KINGDOM OF GOD. This is how you will save yourself from vain labour. Praise God Forevermore!
GRACEFUL MORNING
