I Corinthians 13:2-3 And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.
LOVE must be the reason for all you do, if it’s going to count for something; else it’s a waste of effort. LOVE FOR GOD, AND LOVE FOR OTHERS.
How can someone give all their goods to feed the poor and yet it’s not in love? And how can someone give their body to be burned yet not in love? Oh yes. People can do all sorts of things to get what they want. Someone can donate millions to an orphanage, not because they care for the orphans there and have love for them, but to enhance their reputation for something they want.
Don’t you see this all around you? In an election, for instance, candidates can give cash and goods to people – not because they love the people so much, but because they want their votes? I witnessed one such case in a Ghanaian election where the candidate who had distributed motorcycles to the citizens went back for all the motorcycles he had given out after he lost the election…LOL.
If the reason behind the good you do is not LOVE(for God and for men), you might as well stop doing it, because before God it counts for nothing. LET LOVE DRIVE YOU, BELOVED. Hallelujah!
GRACEFUL MORNING
