Romans 8:3,4 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
The truth of the matter is that, even after being born again, one can still WALK after the flesh and thereby still fulfilling the desires of the old man who is supposed to be dead in Christ.
Once you are born again, you are IN THE SPIRIT, and not in the flesh.
So Romans 8:9 says,
‘But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you.’ The problem, however, is that you can be in the spirit and still set your mind on the flesh and hence be doing the DEEDS and PRACTICES and WORKS of the flesh.
Your old man is dead, but he leaves some element of it’s desires in the memory of your body. You are a new man now, by the presence of the Holy Spirit in your spirit; but there is still the memory of the deeds of the old man in your body – and you could still walk in the flesh if you don’t learn to tune in and walk in the spirit.
Building with SILVER then, is walking after the spirit and not after the flesh and its lust. Every believer is faced with this battle in your daily walk: WALKING IN THE SPIRIT vs WALKING IN THE FLESH. The outcome of the battle will depend on who you support. Are you going with the flesh or will you walk in the spirit? Selah!
GRACEFUL MORNING
