1 John 2:12 I write unto you, little children, because your sins are forgiven you for his name’s sake.
Colossians 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
In the English language, when someone says ‘you have something’, does it mean you are now going to get it when you do something? From the past week we have seen several scriptures that points out that WE HAVE RECEIVED FORGIVENESS. Not that we are going to be forgiven. We already have been forgiven in Christ.
So now, the question becomes WHEN WERE WE FORGIVEN? Is it when we confess our sins?
When Christ suffered for sin and died for it, we also suffered and died because we were in him through identification. So the day you believed the salvation message of Christ, all that Christ did was credited into your account legally. Hallelujah.
“To him give all the prophets witness, that THROUGH HIS NAME WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHALL RECEIVE REMISSION OF SINS.” – Acts 10:43
That day you believed and gave your life to Jesus was the day all your sins were vitally forgiven ETERNALLY (past, present, future sins). Praise God – I have eternal forgiveness in Christ.
Does that mean that the born again believer is free to do anything since he has obtained ETERNAL FORGIVENESS in Christ? We would find out in subsequent messages. Remain blessed in Jesus name. Amen!
GRACEFUL MORNING
