James 5:5-8 You have lived on the earth in pleasure and luxury; you have fattened your hearts as in a day of slaughter. You have condemned, you have murdered the just; he does not resist you. Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
GOD’S JUDGEMENT IS NOT HASTY; It is slow but sure – and it always comes in the end.
Someone asked, “What of those who do evil and seem to be enjoying, and look like they have escaped the consequence of their evil?”
That’s the same situation that the Apostle James describes in the text above, of rich oppressors who live in luxury and opulence through corruption and wickedness. He says, BE PATIENT like the way the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.
In other words, Judgement will surely come, no matter how slow. So David says,
“Do not fret because of evildoers, Nor be envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, And wither as the green herb.” -Psalms 37:1-2
JUDGEMENT WILL SURELY COME FOR THE EVILDOER – whether in this life or the next. You just don’t bother your head over them. Hallelujah!
GRACEFUL MORNING
