John 15:1‭-‬2 AMPC I AM the True Vine, and My Father is the Vinedresser. Any branch in Me that does not bear fruit [that stops bearing] He cuts away (trims off, takes away); and He cleanses and repeatedly prunes every branch that continues to bear fruit, to make it bear more and richer and more excellent fruit.

Now let’s discuss some necessary but unpalatable aspect of our faith: The PRUNING of the child of God.

Jesus said,

 EVERY BRANCH THAT BEARS FRUIT THE FATHER PRUNES, THAT IT MAY BEAR MORE FRUIT. In other words,  YOU CANNOT BE VERY FRUITFUL IN YOUR CHRISTIAN JOURNEY WITHOUT THE PRUNING KNIFE. – It’s a necessary displeasure.

What is PRUNING in Agric science? From Wikipedia, Pruning is essentially the targeted removal of diseased, damaged, dead, non-productive, structurally unsound, and unwanted plant materials(such as shoots, buds, and leaves) from a tree, in order to foster growth.

You will find that the sap of a tree which is supposed to go  into fruit production can be drawn into sustaining these dead and unwanted parts of the tree, thereby affecting fruit bearing. The only way to prevent this and help the tree to be fruitful is to CUT AWAY those parts by PRUNING.

An important question I want you to brood on is: “What are the things in your life, taking vital life and energy out of you that needs the Pruning Knife of the Lord?” Selah Selah!
