John 10:4-5,27 And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. Yet they will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him, for they do not know the voice of strangers. My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
If any leader tells you that their voice is the voice of God unto you, they are not wrong; Only that they might be regarding you as a lamb and not a sheep.
Jesus was emphatic with His words:
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”
If you are a child of God, and Jesus is your shepherd, then you will know his voice. If you can’t know his voice, then there’s a problem. Either you have an issue with your hearing (or spiritual senses) or you are a lamb who is immature and can’t discern your Shepherd’s voice.
You see, the lambs are immature and are unable to discern the voice of the shepherd for themselves. Their safety is in following the matured sheep who can discern the shepherd’s voice, or else they will get lost. So in the movement of the flock, the lambs follow the sheep, as the sheep follow the shepherd. There are many believers who are still lambs after many years in the Lord. They cannot hear the Lord’s voice for themselves and must always be told what the Lord said by another. They are still babes. Even though there’s nothing wrong with being told by another what the Lord said, you should not remain there forever; you must grow up.
I am a Pastor and I can tell you this: THE DUTY OF THE PASTOR OR SHEPHERD IS TO HELP THE FLOCK TO GROW FROM LAMBS INTO SHEEP SO THAT THEY CAN HEAR THE LORD FOR THEMSELVES. That is when we have been successful in making ‘Disciples of Christ’. Not when they have to always be dependent on us to know what the Lord says.
BELOVED, LET US GROW. Praise God!
GRACEFUL MORNING
