Luke 6:32-34 But if you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. And if you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive back, what credit is that to you? For even sinners lend to sinners to receive as much back.
The PURE LOVE OF GOD is without CONDITIONS and REASONS.
When someone can give you a condition or reason for their love, then it’s not love at all. That kind of affection dissipates when that condition no longer exists. If a brother says, “I love that lady because of her body shape”. And he gets married to her. What happens when that lady loses her shape after going through the arduous labour ward 4 times. The reason for the brothers love no longer exists and so will his love and affection for the lady. No wonder many wives will now put themselves through painstaking exercises and treatments just to make themselves appealing again to their men. THE FOUNDATION FOR THAT LOVE WAS WRONG.
The true love of God has no conditions and has no reasons for loving. When a sister asks a gentleman, “Why do you love me?” And he is able to tell her why he does, that love has a wrong foundation. She might feel all emotional and sentimental about his reasons but she will find out tomorrow that his proclaimed love was shallow and dependent on a fleeting condition. You will then understand that LOVE SHOULD NOT HAVE CONDITIONS. Many friendships are like that: You give me that, you get this from me, which is fine. But LOVE should not be.
That is why Jesus said,
‘If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same.’ Hallelujah!
Let the love of God flow from your heart, without conditions attached. Glory to God!
GRACEFUL MORNING
