Matthew 7:9-11 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Many of God’s children have the wrong idea of who God is. We see God as some vengeful warlord sitting on His heavenly throne seeking to rain fire and brimstone on us upon any slight slip. Hahahaha. Oh no! You have the wrong picture of Him.
One of the greatest Revelations which Jesus brought to us is to show us The FATHERHOOD DIMENSION OF GOD. So when He taught the disciples to pray, He said to them, “When you pray say, OUR FATHER who art in heaven…” That is it!
He is a LOVING FATHER.You have to grow in your knowledge of Him; You have to know Him beyond God. Fatherhood is a loving place of fondness, of care, of affection and protection.
When we were kids and someone threatens you or does something bad to you, you respond with, “I will tell my Father”. Why? Because you know that your father is that strong man who will always defend and fight for you. You know he will come through for you when you need him; You know he is there for you. So Jesus said,
“If you earthly fathers, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?”
How do you see and relate with God? Do you see Him as a distant tyrant or do you know Him as a Loving Father? Selah! Shalom Dear One!
GRACEFUL MORNING
