Matthew 23:8-10 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
You must not make any man LORD over your life. That position is the EXCLUSIVE PRESERVE OF CHRIST. Not even your Pastor or Father or General Overseer should occupy that place.
Many innocent and well-meaning believers have been misled and abused because of this misunderstanding of spiritual authority. Some even dare to say, “Your spiritual authority is always right” – and you must do whatever they say even if it goes against the leading of the Holy Spirit. This is an absolute deception; you are headed towards danger and you will have yourself to blame in the end. This is the reason why God gave you the Holy Spirit to be led by Him, and Scripture says,
“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.” – Romans 8:14
I am not preaching disloyalty or disobedience to authority. Know the place of your spiritual authority in your life and respect and honor them, but even more importantly, know the place of the Holy Spirit and the Lordship of Christ in your life. When you understand spiritual authority, you will know that ANY INSTRUCTION OR LEADING THAT GOES AGAINST CHRIST’S LEADING MUST BE DISOBEYED UNAPOLOGETICALLY NO MATTER WHO IT IS COMING FROM.
I have often told people,
“Whenever you are having trouble on who to obey in a conflicting situation, ask yourself, WHO IS MY LORD? Your answer will help you on what to do. Is it Christ or Money or your Pastor or your Boss?” Selah!
GRACEFUL MORNING
