John 1:12-13 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
How do you become a Child of God? How do you get saved? BY FAITH IN THE NAME OF JESUS.
Galatians 3:26 tells us,
For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
We are sometimes funny; we humans. People can have faith in so many other things and ignore the ESSENTIAL thing. We can debate and fight over our diverging doctrines and miss THE IMPORTANCE OF OUR DEVOTION TO CHRIST JESUS. Believers can be so devoted to their denominational dogmas and committed to their pastors but miss out on their devotion to Christ. No wonder we have complicated and convoluted our Christian Faith with so many things; But Christianity is supposed to be very simple: IT IS FAITH AND DEVOTION TO CHRIST. Period!
Look at it yourself:
“But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.“- 2 Corinthians 11:3
Christianity is pretty simple – JUST CHRIST. You can be distracted from the main purpose of God by the lesser purposes. It doesn’t mean those other things are not important; but please don’t miss the main thing: YOUR FAITH AND DEVOTION MUST BE IN CHRIST. Period! Be blessed Dear One!
