Acts 14:21-22 And when they had preached the gospel to that city and made many disciples, they returned to Lystra, Iconium, and Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, “We must through many tribulations enter the kingdom of God.”
Notice that the commission we received is to ‘MAKE DISCIPLES’, not just to preach to someone and leave. The Greek word used here is ‘matheteuo’, and it means to make someone a learner, a student and an adherent of a teacher (Jesus in this case). That’s why in John 8:31, “Jesus said to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed”
You can see this involves work. “Making Disciples” means you have to make time to teach and build the person consistently. Don’t say you can’t do it. Yes, You Can. It might be just one person for the start but get to work. Don’t be afraid of what to teach – whatever you have learnt and have been taught start teaching that as well. Remember, YOU HAVE BEEN RAISED TO RAISE OTHERS, YOU HAVE BEEN TAUGHT TO TEACH OTHERS.
This is the great commission and we can see in Acts 14 Paul and Barnabas strengthening the Disciples, exhorting them and teaching them.
I SEE AN ARMY OF BELIEVERS AWAKENING TO THE MANDATE AND MAKING DISCIPLES OF ALL NATIONS FOR OUR LORD AND CHRIST. Hallelujah!
GRACEFUL MORNING
