Mark 8:34-35
And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it; but whosoever shall lose his life for my sake and the gospel’s, the same shall save it.
THE CROSS WAS LOVE’S WAY TO THE THRONE. When Jesus said I am the way, who would have thought that that way was going to be paved through the cross? But it was.
And now, listen to Jesus. He said, ‘If anyone loves me and wants to follow me, let him DENY HIMSELF , and TAKE UP HIS CROSS , and FOLLOW ME ‘.
DENY YOURSELF, TAKE UP YOUR CROSS AND FOLLOW . Wow! The path of love is the way of the cross. It will cost you some comfort and some things. Love essentially means bearing and forbearing. But in the end, it will be worth it.
In the realm of love, we often seem defeated but we are winning all the time. Satan seems the victor but he was defeated before the foundations of the world. The senses can only see and measure the seemingly apparent defeat of your cross, but in the heart there is the SOLID AFFIRMATION OF VICTORY ALWAYS. It doesn’t matter what you are facing for Love’s sake, just listen closely to your spirit and you will hear the soft sound of victory. Shout Hallelujah!
GRACEFUL MORNING
