Ephesians 2:19‭-‬20 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but FELLOW CITIZENS with the saints and MEMBERS OF THE HOUSEHOLD of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone

You must understand the DUALITY STATUS of the believer. The believer is both a SON and a SERVANT.

When you were born again, you were born into the FAMILY/HOUSEHOLD of God as a SON. But you were also translated from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Jesus Christ as a CITIZEN or SERVANT.

So in your family living, God is your FATHER and you are his son, but in your kingdom living He is your LORD and you are a servant. This is why you will find the Apostles introduce themselves over and over again as servants even though they were sons of God:

James 1:1

“James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ…”

Titus 1:1

“Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect…”

2 Peter 1:1

“Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith with us…”

Because you are a son, you qualify for the LIFE or NATURE of the Father which is your salvation; but as a servant you will qualify for ETERNAL REWARDS or ETERNAL REIGN by your WORKS. This is essentially the difference between the two groups of virgins in Matthew 25. THE WISE AND THE FOOLISH VIRGINS ARE DIFFERENTIATED BY THEIR WORKS. Are you a wise virgin or a foolish one? Selah!
