Ephesians 2:8-10 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus FOR GOOD WORKS, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.
The Bible also says in Romans 3:24
“ Being justified freely by his grace* through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:”
It’s an undeniable fact of the Gospel that, Man can never save himself by anything he will do or can do. SALVATION IS SOLELY BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH. It is not of works so that no one will boast.
Because of this fact of the Gospel, people ask, ‘If we are saved by Grace Alone through Faith, then what is the essence of works? Does it affect anything whether I obey God or do any good works? Does works contribute to our salvation? If not, what is its importance in the Christian life?
It will take a number of Expositions to answer all of these wholesomely, but the straight answer is in the text above. ‘By Grace, we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus UNTO GOOD WORKS’.
The believer must understand that, WE ARE NOT SAVED BY WORKS, NEVERTHELESS WE ARE SAVED FOR WORKS. We don’t strive to do things in order to merit God’s acceptance. NO. We are already accepted in the Beloved when we truly believe and accept His love sacrifice for us. Rather, because of Christ’s righteousness in us, we strive to live rightly and EXPRESS and MANIFEST that nature of righteousness. And this is shown in our obedience and good works.
Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah. Glory to God. Be blessed Child of God
