Ephesians 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath MADE US ACCEPTED IN THE BELOVED.
Romans 2:11 For God does not show favoritism.
Note that when it comes to love, God has no favourites. His Grace has made us all accepted in the beloved. HE LOVES US ALL EQUALLY.
Why then does it look as if some people are loved more than others? You look around and it seems, that sister is loved more than you, everything seems to be working fine for her but not you.
The reason why it looks that way is because some people have learnt to take advantage of and appropriate God’s love for themselves more than others. It’s just like in a good balanced home, the good mother will love all her children equally, but you will always find that child who is mama’s boy and always by her side. Because of his closeness to mama, he will always get the extra sweets and gifts while the others miss out because they were far away when the souvenirs arrived.
Apostle John was such a person to Jesus. He wrote in his gospel that “He was the disciple whom Jesus loved” (Jn 13:23). – That was how he thought about himself and saw himself even though Jesus himself never said that. John had learnt to make personal the Savior’s love more than the other disciples did, and as a result he was always closest to Jesus. This was so clear that during the last supper when Peter and Co wanted to find out who will betray the master, they had to ask John to get that information from Jesus for them (John 13:21-26).
Have you accepted God’s love? How Personal is God’s love to you? How close are you to Jesus? Selah! God bless you dear one!
GRACEFUL MORNING
