Hosea 4:1,6 Hear the word of the Lord, You children of Israel, For the Lord brings a charge against the inhabitants of the land: “There is no truth or mercy Or knowledge of God in the land. My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.”
The importance of the KNOWLEDGE OF SELF cannot be overemphasised, because WHATEVER AREA OF LIFE YOU LACK THE KNOWLEDGE IN YOU WILL CERTAINLY PERISH THERE.
Consider a man who has not the knowledge that cigarettes contain carcinogens which when smoked brings cancer to the lungs eventually. His continual smoking of the substance is going to lead to his death and perishing.
Similarly, many of us partake of certain meals or delicacies which are detrimental to our health. You probably know that too much sugar is not good for you, but the truth is, you don’t know it well enough. It is only until you are admitted in the hospital and faced with a fatal condition which was because of your consumption of sugar, that the knowledge really dawns on you. From thence, you might never abuse that substance because YOU NOW KNOW.
WHAT YOU DON’T KNOW ABOUT YOURSELF CAN BRING ABOUT YOUR DOOM AND DESTRUCTION. KNOWLEDGE OF WHO YOU ARE IS THE BEGINNING OF THE EXPLORATION OF ALL THE HIDDEN GLORIES AND TREASURES THAT GOD PUT IN YOU. What has God said in His Word that you are? He has said that,
● You are God’s Image and made after His likeness.
● You are God’s own son/daughter with God’s Life in you
● You are a Prince/Princess of power and riches
● You are the blessed. Blessed with all spiritual blessings in Christ
● You are the healed. Not one seeking healing
● You are perfect and complete in Him
Beloved, if you are going to live the life that God has destined for you, you must of necessity KNOW WHO YOU ARE and constantly keep that knowledge in your consciousness all the time. Be blessed in Jesus name.
