Proverbs 3:11‭-‬12 My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, Nor detest His correction; For whom the Lord loves He corrects, Just as a father the son in whom he delights.

When the child of God despises and snubs the Lord’s Words of Chastening through His Word, and through instructions, they inadvertently set themselves up for CHASTENING BY CIRCUMSTANCES/SITUATIONS. And this is not necessarily God bringing that situation upon you – even though God will use it to help you and train you. Let me explain what I mean with an example.

Consider a gentleman who isn’t very serious with his Christian Faith. At work he keeps padding numbers and stealing from the company account. He knows this is wrong, and the Lord has rebuked him severally but to no avail. Eventually, his mischievous deeds come to light and he is imprisoned. This really gets to him, and whiles in prison he reforms completely and becomes very fervent with his faith. Question to you is, ‘Did God put him in prison in order to reform him?’

Of course NOT. His greed and theft put him in prison. Yes, through it God gets to him and helps him to be changed and become a better man. But that situation came because he will not heed the Lord’s Chastening and correction through His Word.

WHENEVER THE CHILD OF GOD SNUBS CONTINOUSLY THE INSTRUCTIONS OF THE WORD OF GOD, THEY ARE SETTING THEMSELVES UP FOR SOME BAD SITUATIONS AND CIRCUMSTANCES. Unfortunately, bad situations speak to many of us better, than the Word of God does. But you don’t have to be like that, Child of God. Determine to be ONE who heeds the instructions of the Lord at all times, for your own good. Don’t let it get to bad situation before you will hear what the Lord is saying to you. Hallelujah to His name.  Amen!
