Hebrews 12:9‭-‬11 Furthermore, we have had human fathers who corrected us, and we paid them respect. Shall we not much more readily be in subjection to the Father of spirits and live? For they indeed for a few days chastened us as seemed best to them, but He for our profit, that we may be partakers of His holiness. Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

The 3rd level of the CHASTENING of the Lord is, CHASTENING WITH BLOWS/BEATINGS/PAIN. This is when it is technically called CHASTISEMENT.

At this point, you will experience pain, but the pain is not a judgement but a corrective measure to TRAIN you and improve you. This is when you will understand the ‘MYSTERY OF SUFFERING’. That’s why the passage above says,

Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but PAINFUL; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Yes, when CHASTISED by the Lord, you will feel the pain, but in the end it will yield a harvest of righteous fruits in you. You will be better for it.

And you must go through this if God is your father and you, his son/daughter. Else, you are an illegitimate child, or a bastard. For whom the Lord loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.

Simply put, PAINFUL CHASTISEMENT IS A PROOF OF LOVE FROM A FATHER, WHO SEEKS TO TRAIN AND PERFECT THE CHILD. Are you a legitimate Child of God? Do you accept His chastisement or do you despise it? Selah!
