Romans 6:14-16 For sin shall no longer be your master, because you are not under the law, but under grace. What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace? By no means! Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey—whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?
Make no mistake about it, WHOM YOU SERVE OR OBEY IS AN INDICATION OF WHO YOUR MASTER IS. It’s really that simple!
If you say you are saved and Jesus is your Lord, show it by your obedience to Him; else stop telling us Jesus is your Lord. You can’t possibly have Him as your Lord and live anyhow, and go about doing just anything any way you like. Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves slaves to obey, you are that one’s slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness?
So Jesus said,
IF YOU LOVE ME, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS. – John 14:15
The truth of the Gospel is that, After regeneration the believer is not free to do just anything. Don’t let the misunderstanding of Grace delude you into living in sin. THE TRUE DISCIPLES OF CHRIST KNOW THAT OBEDIENCE TO OUR LORD IS A PROOF OF OUR SERVANTHOOD.
This is not a debate on “Salvation by works or by Grace.” We know that no man can save themselves no matter how ‘humanly good’ they are – we have all fallen short of God’s glory and mark. The life that is saved by Grace knows they cannot help themselves – so they SURRENDER unto HIM. And this complete surrender will lead to OBEDIENCE.
Hallelujah! Shalom!
Welcome to the month of June – YOU WILL SEE THE GOODNESS OF GOD THIS MONTH. Say Amen!
