Ephesians 4:9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth?

Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale’s belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth.

As if the suffering which ended with the death on the cross wasn’t enough, Jesus had to go to hell for us. He took us into the DEPTH OF HIS LOVE – how deep was he willing to go for us!

Jesus went to the place of sorrow and pain which man should have gone as judgement for sin. He suffered all the horror and terror of hell fire for us. Hell is not a place you wish for anyone – not even your worst enemies. It’s a place of INDIGNATION AND WRATH, TRIBULATION AND ANGUISH.

We know of people who have sacrificed for others and endured some afflictions for their loved ones, but going to hell for another is unheard of. BUT JESUS WENT TO HELL FOR US.

It was a terrible 3 days of his body in the grave, and his soul/spirit in hell. Satan and all the forces of hell were rejoicing and inflicting all the arsenals of hell on him. Jesus took it all by himself – He did this so that we will not have to go to hell ever again. Wow.. how deep my saviors love for me – it’s deeper than hell.

Tell someone about this today. Tell them, DO YOU KNOW THAT JESUS WENT TO HELL FOR YOU? Yes He did. Glooooory!
