John 15:4, 8 AMPC Dwell in Me, and I will dwell in you. [Live in Me, and I will live in you.] Just as no branch can bear fruit of itself without abiding in (being vitally united to) the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in Me. When you bear (produce) much fruit, My Father is honored and glorified, and you show and prove yourselves to be true followers of Mine.
Someone may ask,
Why is it necessary to be in VITAL UNION with Jesus Christ through prayer?
The simple answer is, YOU CANNOT MAKE IT WITHOUT CHRIST. Consider this scenario,
A certain man is weak; he has been overtaken by diverse temptations. He is extremely addicted to alcohol and drugs such that he has become a junkie; he sleeps on the streets and has nothing. He is so helpless and worthless.
Now suppose that one day he meets an old friend who is strong, lovely, rich and of good character. This friend decides to help and rescue him. This rich friend takes him to his home and gives him access to good food, education and training for his reformation.
Now imagine after 2 weeks, this junkie decides to break ties with his friend and go his way. Where do you suppose he will end up? Most probably back on the streets, with drugs and alcohol becoming his best friends. His life might become even worse than it was before, according to the principle of degeneration which Jesus taught. THE ONLY WAY IN WHICH MAN WILL KEEP HIS REFORMATION AND COMPLETE HIS SALVATION IS BY BEING IN VITAL UNION WITH JESUS CHRIST.
You have not the power in yourself to do right and keep right. Like that junkie, if you break ties with this your lovely friend, your weaknesses and defects will overpower you. Because WHEN YOU KEEP CONTACT WITH LOVELINESS, YOU YOURSELF WILL BECOME LOVELY. Hallelujah!
GRACEFUL MORNING
