Matthew 6:7-9 And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. “This, then, is how you should pray: “ ‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name..
Many of us do not receive answers to our prayers because we don’t know how to relate with God as a father. We think we have to beg God over and over and over again before we receive something from Him. Which correct father does that? IN FACT, THE CHILD OF GOD DOES NOT HAVE TO BEG GOD FOR ANYTHING.
One time when I was teaching on this, I asked my audience:
“Which of you when you wake up in the morning have to beg your father before you get breakfast to eat. “Daddy please I need breakfast. I beg you daddy, please breakfast. Please if you don’t give me breakfast I will die. Oh please, I beg Daddy.” Which of you does that? So if you don’t do that with your earthly parents, what makes you think you need to do that with your Heavenly Father? The problem is our lack of revelation on the Fatherhood of God.
So Jesus said, don’t come and be bubbling and shouting and repeating yourself many times, as if God has a hearing problem. My dear, He doesn’t have a hearing problem and He knows your needs before you came – I’m sorry it’s you that has a receiving problem. Rather come to Him with the confidence and assurance that your father can supply all that you need. Like the way, that little girl will wake up and confidently expect breakfast to be prepared in the morning, without caring how the parents will actually do it. That child has the confident assurance that whatever the situation, daddy will supply breakfast. Period!
Be like that Child, when you approach your Heavenly Father, and I tell you, you will not be disappointed. Hallelujah!
GRACEFUL MORNING
