Hebrews 11:1-2 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.
Many people confuse HOPE with FAITH. And your understanding of that will make a big difference in your Faith life. HOPE IS ALWAYS IN THE FUTURE, WHEREAS FAITH IS ALWAYS NOW.
When Faith has arrived, you don’t say, I WILL. That’s Hope talking. If Abraham says, “I will be the father of many nations”, it means Abraham still hasn’t got faith – he is hoping. And in fact, Abram was still hoping from when God called him at 75yrs until he was 99yrs. When he finally had faith his name was changed to Abraham and he said, “I AM father of many nations”, even though he still didn’t have Isaac. That’s how faith talks.
Don’t get me wrong. Hope is good and has its place. Without hope there is no reason for existence and people give up. Many throw in the towel and commit suicide because they don’t think things will become better – they have lost hope. So hold on to HOPE, if you have it, because It Will Always Become Better. But I want you to understand that it is not the same as Faith. Faith is better. FAITH IS NOT FUTURISTIC – IT IS NOW.
When you have FAITH, you don’t say “I Will”, you say “I AM”; you don’t say, “It will be better”, you say, “IT IS BETTER IN JESUS NAME”, no matter what the economic figures portray. Hallelujah!
GRACEFUL MORNING
