Romans 5:2-4 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope

As we hope we rejoice; and in the face of sufferings and tribulations we Glory. Why? Why do we rejoice in tribulations? Is the normal thing not to cry and complain and be angry in the face of afflictions?

Because

2 Corinthians 4:17 Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

While waiting we must be working out and polishing the Glory we are looking forward to; and afflictions and sufferings are part of the tools that produces patience, and patience then produces tested and approved character which will polish and brighten your glory in the end.

So Apostle James says,

My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. – James 1:2‭-‬4

So when you have understood the place and purpose of afflictions and hardships, you will not eschew it but rather you will enjoy and rejoice in it, Just as Paul did:

” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” – 2 Corinthians 12:9‭-‬10
