When you were born into Christ, you were born into a new family.
The born again experience is not just a terminology. The ‘old you’ died. And the ‘new you’ was born unto a new father: God. And you know, your new father is already a family-man and you were born into that family.
Jesus Christ is your big brother. You have several brothers and sisters who have gone before you: Peter, Paul, James, John Wesley, Martin Luther, Smith Wigglesworth,
Kathryn Kuhlman ….name them. And there are many others right here with you.

Ephesians 3:14-15
For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named.

Ephesians 2:19-20
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God; And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

This your family is so big that some of them are in heaven and some of them are here on Earth. Wow. You are born into the best family in all of the universe. YOU ARE IN GOD’S FAMILY – YOU MADE IT. Isn’t this beautiful? NOW YOU ARE NO MORE STRANGERS AND FOREIGNERS BUT FELLOWCITIZENS WITH THE SAINTS, AND OF THE HOUSEHOLD OF GOD. You are a citizen of the kingdom of God and a member of God’s household/family. Wow.

The message translation says,
“God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together.” Hallelujah!

You know, there are places you go to and you are asked: “Which family do you belong to? Which household are you coming from?”. And your family alone is enough to disqualify you or qualify you. BUT GLORY TO GOD, WE BELONG TO GOD’S VERY OWN FAMILY. WE ARE QUALIFIED FOR ANYTHING. WE ARE SO BLESSED.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God (1Jn 3:1a). Being a part of a family gives you access to certain RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES that only members of that household can access. Once you are a son or daughter of God, YOU HAVE ACCESS to all the blessings of the family. For instance, if you are a son of Donald Trump, you have access to the White House, unlike others. You may even have access to the oval office (where the president and key staffs alone can enter).

The problem is that, many of us are still holding on to the old family ties of our old self. God has birth you anew, and into a new family; His Family. But you are insisting on, and maintaining your old family. Why? Your old family has a family curse in it, but God has translated you into his new family. Which family would you rather belong to? The old one with a curse running in it or the new blessed one?

Understand this beloved: Old things are passed away, including your old family. Behold you are in a new family. God’s family. Shout Hallelujah!
I want you to see how the Bible consistently refers to the Church as the household or family of God. And when you understand this, you will find that there is a way to conduct oneself in God’s household.

1 Timothy 3:15
if I am delayed, you will know how people ought to conduct themselves in God’s household, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.
In Galatians 6:10, Paul admonishes that, “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, ESPECIALLY UNTO THEM WHO ARE OF THE HOUSEHOLD OF FAITH.”
If you are mindful of the kingdom of God, you will know that when you meet a fellow believer, he/she is not just a fellow. HE IS A BROTHER; AND SHE IS A SISTER; from the same family, and with the same father. So we are expected to do much good to the members of our family – to your brother and sister in Christ. Praise God. Let this mind be in you brother/sister.
Whereas God is building one family in Christ, you will find many of us divided along denominational lines. Sectarianism and denominationalism has blinded us from God’s ultimate goal.

1 Corinthians 1:12-13
Now this I say, that every one of you saith, I am of Paul; and I of Apollos; and I of Cephas; and I of Christ. Is Christ divided? was Paul crucified for you? or were ye baptized in the name of Paul?
One says, “I am for Pentecost”, another says, “I am Catholic”. And yet another says, “I am charismatic”. One says, “I stand with Ps Chris”, another says “I stand with Ps Ashimolowo”. What? Must we be that divided? Is Christ divided? was the Catholic Pope crucified for you? or were you baptized in the name of the general overseer of your church?

Some people have missed great teachings the Lord has sent to them because they say, ‘I am Catholic and we don’t listen to anything else.’ There is a place for commitment and faithfulness to the part of the body that God is raising you at, but never lose sight that you are a part of the BODY OF CHRIST.

When God looks at his church, He sees ONE BIG FAMILY, KNITTED AND JOINED TOGETHER IN CHRIST. WE ARE GOD’S FAMILY, WE ARE GOD’S HOUSEHOLD. Don’t treat your true brother and sister in Christ like a stranger and foreigner. Let’s enjoy one another in Christ. Hallelujah!
