This is a tough one, but only if you can receive it. Just as your old life ceased and you received a new life when you were born again, In the same way, YOUR OLD FAMILY CEASED AND YOU WERE BORN INTO A NEW FAMILY. In one house, there will be a sharp dividing line. Those that have believed will be divided or separated from those that haven’t. A son that has believed and has been put in God’s new family may not be able to go with the old family dictates. There is war and division at home.
Luke 12:51-53
Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Some of us will be hated and persecuted by our own old family for Jesus’ sake and for the kingdom’s sake. Jesus said, “A man’s enemies will be those of his own household.” – Matt 10:36.
I have fought these wars many many years ago: When Christ found us, nothing was sweeter and more valuable than it. My pagan father couldn’t take it and nearly disowned me. There was war. This is the kind of war Jesus brought. We have put our hands to the plough and are not looking back. I HAVE BEEN BORN INTO A NEW FAMILY. THAT’S WHERE I BELONG NOW. BEHOLD, THE OLD FAMILY IS GONE. Praise God! Some of you might have it easy and not as drastic as mine. Yet others might have worst encounters than mine, but the point is WHEN A MAN IS BORN AGAIN, HIS OLD FAMILY CEASED AND HE IS ADOPTED INTO A NEW FAMILY IN CHRIST. Gloooory!
One of the blessings of a family is it’s name. Every family has a SURNAME by which the members respond to, and by which opportunities and doors open or close to. Some families have very respected and honorable names, whiles others don’t. Some names when mentioned inspire awe – “Wow, you are a son of that man?”.
Ephesians 3:15
Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,
Jeremiah 33:16
In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The Lord our righteousness.
The WORD says the whole family of God (which you are a part of) is surnamed by a name. That name is CHRIST. Jesus was the 1st Christ and He has given us that name through HOLY MATRIMONY. Would you find any better name anywhere else in all the universe? CHRIST is your surname now. Write it everywhere you write your name. Your surname is CHRIST. Praise be God! You know, in this family there are several blessings and privileges. One of them is his name. He gave us the authority to use his name and function in his stead. So that when you stand before a demon or a sickness, or a crisis, and you use the name of JESUS CHRIST there is a performance. Things change when you use that name which you are named with.
Sometimes, it seems we have not come to the appreciation of what is in that name. IT IS THE HIGHEST NAME IN ALL OF GOD’S UNIVERSE. EVERYTHING IN HEAVEN AND ON EARTH AND UNDER THE EARTH RESPONDS TO THAT NAME. EVERYTHING. (Phil 2:5-11)
Someone said, I want a ‘genie’ to give me a magic word that when I use it I can make a wish of anything. I said, Jesus has already given you that magic word you are looking for. USE THE NAME OF JESUS AND SEE EVERYTHING BOW BEFORE IT. Hallelujah!
How did we arrive at this place – with the authority of the name of Jesus in our lips?
Matthew 28:18-19
And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
Bible says, after spending 3 days and 3 nights in the grave, he rose up. Then he met the women and shouted, ALL HAIL! It was a shout of excitement and ecstasy. There is victory not only for him, but for us who believed. Later in the day he appeared to the disciples and explained further the excitement. He said, “ALL POWER IS GIVEN UNTO ME IN HEAVEN AND IN EARTH.” Then he passed on that power to us and said GO AND LIVE AND OPERATE IN MY NAME. Wow. JESUS GAVE US THE POWER OF ATTORNEY. HE GAVE US HIS NAME. He went through all the hard work to earn the highest place of authority any man could earn then he gave us the name. It’s like a man working for many years earning billions and saving it in an account. Then after that he gives you the password to that account and says, USE IT. JESUS, JESUS, JESUS. That name has all the answers to every problem in the world. And that name is mine now. It’s yours too. You can shout for joy because of this. Thank you Precious Jesus for giving us your name.
Now, listen to the audacity with which Jesus declares that:”WHATSOEVER YE SHALL ASK IN MY NAME, THAT WILL I DO, THAT THE FATHER MAY BE GLORIFIED IN THE SON”. – (John 14:13-14)
He left no doubt whatsoever in our minds. He knew that His name had attained the highest authority ever. He didn’t say some things I will do, others I might not. He didn’t say when you live a godly life and you ask me anything I will do. There were no terms and conditions attached.And I see that’s where the problem is: To many people it’s too good to be true – there should have been some conditions. So, they have the cheque book to an account so full. All they have to do is append their signature by faith, but many don’t. And they suffer hunger and lack; sickness and crisis. Why beloved?
COME BOLDLY TO THE THRONE OF GRACE. COME IN THAT NAME OF JESUS CHRIST. DON’T FEAR. THAT NAME IS YOURS NOW. TAKE YOUR PLACE OF AUTHORITY TODAY AND SEE HOW MIRACLES WILL HAPPEN ALL AROUND YOU. Glooooory!
